My new stays!

My beautiful new silk damask stays arrived today! They are perfect, and I am thrilled. I have only the highest of praise for the lovely and talented Lindsey, http://blog.historicalfashions.com
and Three Graces Historical Clothing, and cannot thank her enough~

I, with my own limited sewing skills designed, made a pattern, and then made the oh so cute bumpad several months ago! It looks wonderful with my stays---even if it is worn under the petticoats, and not seen. I know I have the most gorgeous stays, bumpad, and satin garters, and I feel like a princess!
Here I am actually getting ready, and  wearing them out under a gown for the first time. I have now laced them just to where I want them~ They fit perfectly, and I think they look pretty amazing! (A little trick is to never lace the very top edge of your stays too tightly; this can produce a most unattractive  horizontal wrinkle on your gown front.

...So pretty~I love them! Thank you, Lindsey~

More photo of me in the stays, including back views will be added HERE later~

Hi S.~
Thank you so much for commenting---they are gorgeous, aren't they! I put a lot of effort into finding just the right fabric---the blush color, 100% silk damask, and my wonderful good sport of a hubby helped me, both of us kneeling on the floor and drawing a pattern to correct size for Lindsey, on an opened and ironed out paper bag!

Lindsey then made the vision the most glorious reality, as you can see!
