Tonight is the annual Colonial Twelfth Night Ball. Our best 18thc. finery is all pressed and laid out for us to put on this afternoon. We'll be on our way by 4, listening to lovely period musick in the car on the ride down to Massachusetts. Our post-ball treats are packed, and Adam picked up a bottle of sparkling white grape juice and tucked it into the car with 2 wineglasses.
Adam is working until noon and I am bustling around getting the rest of our stuff together and dressing our yorkies in their new warm pj's and combing their hair, ready to be dropped off to spend the night with their sitter, 'Miss Lorraine' who dearly loves them.
Later after my 'beauty treatments' of a homemade facial and some teabags on my eyes, it will be time to get dressed in the many layers of my 1760 style gown, and don my wig, newly decorated for the ball.
Dinner is included in our long-ago-reserved inn package, and we have reservations for 2 at 7 PM at a cozy table in one of the inns ancient dining rooms. We want to get there a little early and have time to check in and maybe sit in the old taproom for a bit. The ball begins at 8.
We can't wait to see some of our dear friends there that we have not seen for many moons.
We'll have a gallery of photos up on our WEBSITE next week so you can share the magic with us.
Bye-bye mom and dad~Have fun~
I love the faux fur muff I have had for years and years. Here I have pinned a bow on it to match my gown. I have other bows and change them to match the particular 18thc. gown I am wearing.
